David Fry Championships -  Officials' Details:

Thanks to everyone helping at the upcoming David Fry Championships this weekend at Dalplex.

Very important details are outlined below; please read this message thoroughly and let me know if you have any questions.

Attached please find the first draft of the assignment of officials.  We are still in need of timers throughout the weekend; anyone interested can send their name/availability to Kelley: kelley@polycorp.co

Please see the start times noted at the top of the attached assignments including the officials’ briefing times for each session.  All briefings will take place in the officials’ meeting room at the shallow end of the pool deck.  Please be on time for these meetings.  The Session Reports are attached for your reference and are posted on the Swim NS webpage (note the finish times will be adjusted once the B final has been added).

Officials are reminded to wear the following:

  • Black bottoms
  • White top for timed finals (Thursday only) and prelims (Friday, Saturday & Sunday morning)
  • Blue shirt for finals (Saturday & Sunday evening) for all officials except timers.  Timers will wear white shirts for all sessions
  • Appropriate/comfortable footwear

FACILITY ACCESS:

  • All officials must enter/exit Dalplex through the main doors and check-in with facility staff. We have provided them with a list of officials for each session.  You may access the pool deck through the back stairwell.

PARKING:

  • Parking passes are required to park in the Dalplex Parking lot on Friday only. Parking passes are not needed for Thursday’s session.  These passes can be picked up from me (Kelley) on Thursday at the pool (or Friday morning for those not attending Thursday’s session) in the classroom on deck.

OTHER:

  • Warm-Ups:
    • There will be a 30-minute open warm-up on Thursday before the relays (following the distance events)
    • There will be no split warm-ups
    • Sprint, Pace & Backstroke start lanes will be open for the last 20 minutes of each scheduled warm-up period
    • Lanes 7 & 8 will be designated for Para Swimmers, Special Olympic Swimmers, and 12 & Under Swimmers for the first 30 minutes of each warm-up period
  • Hospitality: HTAC will be providing hospitality in the classroom off the deck in the shallow end for all Coaches and Officials.
  • Water will be provided but it is always a good idea to bring your own water bottle!

If you have any questions, please let Bette El-Hawary know.

Thanks,
Maureen Nolan, Chair of Officials DCSC, vpcompetitions@dartmouthcrusaders.ca
